Overview

TransAndLearn is a macOS menu bar app for translation and language learning. The app does not require an email account, password, or social login.

Information You Provide

When you use cloud translation or random learning notes, the text you choose to process is sent to the TransAndLearn backend so the app can return a translation, reading aid, or learning note. Do not submit information that you do not want processed by a cloud service.

Local Data

Translation history, learning notes, modes, scenes, and personal context are stored locally on your Mac unless you choose to export or remove them. TransAndLearn does not run its own account system for syncing this data.

Cloud Usage and Quota Data

The backend stores a generated anonymous install identifier or RevenueCat app user identifier, request counts, token usage, request status, endpoint name, subscription plan, and quota reset window. This data is used to enforce free and paid usage limits, control abuse, and diagnose service problems.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. TransAndLearn uses RevenueCat to read subscription status, restore purchases, and map App Store subscriptions to Basic or Pro access. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store processes purchases and subscription management.
• RevenueCat provides subscription status and entitlement infrastructure.
• Cloudflare hosts the TransAndLearn backend and usage ledger.
• An AI model provider processes text submitted for cloud translation and learning note generation.

Data Retention

Local app data remains on your Mac until you delete it. Backend quota records are kept as needed for service operation, billing support, abuse prevention, and diagnostics.

Your Choices

• You can delete local history and learning notes inside the app.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account.
• You can contact support to ask about backend quota records associated with your app user identifier.
